End of the world when?

This past week one man, with 66 radio stations and a bunch of money, decided he knew the last day on earth was going to be May 21, 2011. Ok so that was yesterday and I am still here able to write about it. What a letdown he must be feeling today that the voice inside his head was not God’s.
Let’s take a look at the notion of a day that the world will end. One day we are here the next we are gone. Does everything end on that day as well? Does the earth vanish into nothingness? I tend to believe that God is a loving father and not one to destroy his own creation. Look at it this way, why did Jesus have to die on the cross if a few years later, just a blink of an eye for God, he would trash the whole world. I can hear God telling Jesus “sorry son for making you go through all that but those people down there just didn’t get it so I decided to start all over with monkeys again”.
Even if God was going to end things why would he tell us? It’s not like he is saying “shape up or else”. Is God playing a trick on that poor man and today whispered into his in ear “just kidding” with a smiley face?
We all have an end of days in our life, which is what life is about. Can you predict your last day without committing suicide, don’t think so. How different would we live our lives if we knew? Would we be breaking rules our last day because it didn’t matter after tomorrow or would you be spending it praying to God to give you just a few more days to wrap things up?
The gift that God gave us is NOT knowing when we will die. God gives us the opportunity to live each day any way we choose, I just hope we all choose to live it with God in our lives and share his grace with all.
Until next time, love your day as much as God loves you!

The spark that inspires

Do you remember the instant that God sparked you to do something? It might have been a fleeting thought that made you stop for just a second and you wonder were that thought came from. It’s almost like you could not comprehend what your brain was thinking but just the thought itself was so cool. Like any spark it flashes then is gone. This is a crucial time, the next few minutes, when we can shrug and go on with daily life or stop and let that spark burn into our heart. This happens so quickly that we might just miss it. If you have your heart open all the time it seems that these moments are easier to see and feel. The fun part is seeing that spark grow and become more and more until it comes to life. This I believe is how God changes the world though us his children.

The start of what should be a grand adventure!

Over the past 9 years our goal has been to give Christians a new way of receiving God's inspirations. Not by text or email but by just picking up your phone and listening. I find it interesting that no one else has come up with the same idea by now. Way back when God inspired me by putting this little thought in my head did I realize it would take this long. So many side tracks, lack of funds, relying on others, and trying to help those in need, have I realized that the adventure started the day a light bulb went off above my head. I have so wanted to get this going that sometimes I would feel like it would never get here. I have put everything into this 100% to a point where I have had to ask for help just to meet my bills. I have come to learn how to live off pennies instead of dollars. The great thing is that God has not changed and I still feel his love every day. Here is the good news that comes out of the struggle, even if our service and messages help just a few people it will feel like we have changed the world.

I hope that my experiences will help someone who is struggling right now to find that God is always here with us. I look forward to many great conversations on this blog and my hope is that everyone who reads this will add their comments.

Remember God is with you right now!
